Attic Insulation

Blown In Attic Insulation

Attic insulation is the most cost effective insulation for an attic or crawl space area.  You lose about 25% of your heating and cooling through your attic.  Having a properly insulated attic will keep you cooler during the summer and warmer during the winter.

Recommended R-Value for Iowa is R-49, which in about 15" to 18" of insulation depending on type of insulation.  If you have less than 12" of insulation in your attic then you should consider adding more attic insulation.

In addition to having proper attic insulation levels, you also need to ensure you have proper attic ventilation and air infiltration.  For FREE as part of our standard process we will install vent chutes to ensure proper attic ventilation. In addition, if needed, we will add exhaust venting to bath fans, where needed for FREE.  And for a small fee we can offer air infiltration control where we seal visible attic ceiling penetrations.  You may be eligible for additional rebates for air infiltration.

REBATES

If your heat source is provided by one of the states 3 main suppliers (MidAmerican Energy, Alliant Energy or Black Hills Energy) and if you have R-24 or less in your attic then you may be eligible for rebates up to 75% of the costs up to $1000 of having us install your attic insulation.

Customer Comments

The owner was the first to respond to my inquiry. I only wanted to insulate my attached three-car garage that was not insulated, but I knew that even though the house was two years old, all of the insulation was done poorly. Jason offered to either do just the garage space, or take on all spaces for what I considered a very reasonable price. The insulation was blown in and is now very uniform. Rulers placed in the attic showing 19 or 20 inches throughout. I felt very good at the end of this project and would use Affordable Foam again.
